Welcome to the first installment of our new blog series #RealCBBbrides!  Like many of you, we love scrolling through Instagram and Pinterest for inspiration but we rarely get to see REAL BRIDES. Don’t get us wrong….styled shoots are a great way to inspire people but we always want to know how these ideas gets executed by Brides in the real world. This new blog series is meant to show you how our #RealCBBbrides have brought their dream weddings to life, and hopefully to inspire you through the planning process.

Happy Planning!

Meet Stephanie & Justin!

When they began planning their Big Day Stephanie was ready. She had been dreaming about this day for as long as she can remember. And Justin was by her side supporting her and assuring her that his priority was making sure it was everything she dreamed it would be. KEEPER! They brought in Leslie Kaplan from ENCORE EVENT DESIGN to help with the execution and everyone agreed that was the best decision they could have made.  “She was so excellent in making all of my ideas come to life and completely respected the decisions I made prior to hiring her”. Never underestimate a wedding planner, ladies. They are like your Fairy Godmother!

When Stephanie came in to try on dresses she had a pretty clear vision of how she wanted to look. She loved illusion necklines and the look of lace around her chest and shoulders. We very clearly remember this day because her stylist(Christina) knew after just a few dresses which would be THE ONE. Here’s the catch…we didn’t have it in the store anymore. Gasp! “Patience Lynette” was her perfect Maggie Sottero wedding gown, but we only had Patience for her to try on. So Stephanie(the trooper and visionary that she is) put on another dress with the same buildup, with Patience on TOP so she could see the whole look together. AND SHE SAID YES TO THE DRESS! She brought the perfect crew with her: Mom, Grandma and her Mother-in-Law. They provided her with honest opinions but made it known that they respected whatever decision she made. “As soon as I put that one on, I knew it was my dream dress! I felt so confident and happy in it and I knew Justin, my husband, would love it.”

One of the cutest things that Stephanie and Justin did was read their vows to each other during their "First Look". They decided to do it privately because she knew she would be an emotional mess and Justin would just be thankful not to have to speak in front of so many people. They were able to keep their ceremony short and sweet, but also made sure to sign their marriage certificate before walking down the aisle as Man and Wife. "We wanted to walk away married after our officiant pronounced us husband and wife."
In Her Own Words
What advise do you have for other Brides planning their weddings?
"Pick everything that makes you happy. You are the one that lives with the memories and the pictures. If something goes wrong or isn't exactly what you pictured, let it go. No one else knows it isn't exactly how you wanted it. And, relax! You are about to experience the most emotions you have ever felt and it's going to go by in the blink of an eye! I highly recommend a photographer and videographer if your budget allows. It has truly allowed me to relive the day over and over again, and hear the voices and the sounds of that day as well. Also, pick a dress that makes you feel beautiful and comfortable. DO not try to pick something trendy or what you think others will like. You will look the most beautiful in a dress you believe you look beautiful in. Coming from one self-conscious bride to another, you will absolutely shine if you pick a dress you truly think make YOU happy."

Stephanie, thank you for being an absolute joy to work with! You and Justin are such an amazing couple and we wish you nothing short of a lifetime of happiness. It is an honor to have been part of your day and we can't wait to see your love continue to grow!

Meet Christina

If you haven't had a chance to come meet Christina, you really ought to. She is incredibly bubbly, full of energy and she is just as excited as you are to find your perfect wedding gown. We are very excited to have her on our team because she always keeps us smiling. She is a full-time psych student at CSUCI and spends as much time as she can at Disneyland with her man. You will also recognize her from our Instagram and Facebook posts about new dresses that have arrived. She just HAPPENS to fit into most of our samples perfectly!

ASHLEY: If you could style any celebrity for their wedding day who would it be?
CHRISTINA: Jennifer Lawrence because she is ON FIRE! OH... Sam Smith because he could just sing to me the whole time.

ASHLEY: What's your favorite songs?
CHRISTINA: "The Book of Life" but I totally forgot who it's by. I heard it on Scrubs!

ASHLEY: What's the weirdest job that you've ever had?
CHRISTINA: Being a caregiver there were definitely some SCARY  moments!

ASHLEY: Tell us something random!
CHRISTINA: One time I ate apple sauce that had mold in it! It was by accident though!!!

Here is Christina modeling "Farrah" by Maggie Sottero @ the Camarillo Ranch Bridal Showcase

ASHLEY: Who is your favorite designer?
CHRISTINA: I LOVE MAGGIE SOTTERO!!! I lover her lace. I love how elegant the designs are and the variety in styles that she makes.

ASHLEY: Who is your favorite Disney Character?
CHRISTINA: Ahhhh! It's a tie between Dumbo and Dopey. I really can't choose. It just wouldn't be fair to choose.

We think it's Dopey! She has a Dopey sticker on her car and her personality totally embodies him. Not that she's "dopey" but she is super silly, a perpetual optimist and is always smiling. She is such a lovable person and all of her Brides have fallen in love with her. We are so lucky to have her as a stylist and can't wait until her man puts a ring on it and she becomes one of our Brides too.
