Last week People Magazine posted the first look at Morgan Stewart's (Rich Kids of Beverly Hills) beautiful SoCal wedding. We were obviously excited to see what fabulous designer she selected for her wedding gown, but what really struck us about this article is her candid discussion about the struggle to find that perfect dress. And you might think "Celebrity: unlimited budget, unlimited options!" That just goes to show you that the struggle is real! Morgan says that she almost gave up on her search and we know that many of our Brides can relate to the feeling.

Here  are a few things that we want you to keep in mind if the shopping process is getting a little overwhelming:

1. Don't try on too many wedding dresses!

You (someone you know) might want to go to every bridal store and try on every dress, but PLEASE DON'T! I can't tell you how many Brides I have worked with who are completely overwhelmed and confused. Then they bust out their cell phone to show me their favorite dresses and we spend 5 minutes scrolling through images. No wonder they're confused! These poor Brides can't tell the 3rd dress apart from the 31st dress. I call this feeling "Ivory Overload"!

2. That's why you have a Gown Stylist!

We are trained to help you sift through your favorites and figure out what they all have in common. We are trained to know our inventory and figure out what your best options are. As long as you are open with us about your feelings toward a dress we can read between the lines and ultimately find you the PERFECT  wedding gown. Sometimes it's the simplest thing (train, alterations, etc.) that finally helps a Bride feel confident in her decision.

3. Get creative!

Morgan Stewart had to take a jacket and a skirt to put together her perfect bridal "outfit", as she called it. She got creative! Luckily many of only want to change minor details of a wedding gown: train length, strap width, back details, etc. A seamstress is a great person to help you out but there are also some designers who can actually fully customize your wedding gown.....MEET CASABLANCA BRIDAL!!!

This beauty is 1975 by Casablanca Bridal. She is one of the best built sheath gowns in the industry and she fits perfectly into several different wedding styles: boho, garden, destination, church, rustic. We have done some pretty crazy things with 1975 in the past including giving her a keyhole back, adding 4 feet to her train and dropping her back almost down to the booty. We figured we would ease you into the idea of customization by sticking with the straps. Take a look at what you can do!

 This option is completely strapless!

With this option we made the straps wider!

With this option the straps were widened and placed more off-the-shoulder.

We never want our Brides to feel like they have to compromise or settle. Morgan Stewart didn't rest until she found the perfect "outfit" and neither should you! We believe that where there's a will there's a way and it's our mission to make sure you aren't having to compromise on the most important garment you will ever wear. Just remember to avoid "Ivory Overload", let you Gown Stylist help you & don't be afraid to get creative! YOU WILL FIND THE ONE!!!

*We just wanted to give an extra special shout out to Lucas Rossi Photography, who is responsible for those beautiful images you see of Morgan Stewart! We had the pleasure of meeting him at the Camarillo Ranch Bridal Showcase  and then did a styled photo shoot with him that was published this week in 100 Layer Cake. There are so many great vendors here in Southern California!

On April 17th we got to participate in the newest Bridal Show around: The Westlake Village Bridal Show! This event was hosted by Exotic Green Garden and the response and turn out was overwhelming. There were so many excited Brides and their entourages who attended the event and a ton of vendors for them to meet. We were very excited to not only have a booth but to also present a fashion show featuring many of our wedding gowns, special occasion dresses and a tuxedo by Friar Tux of Thousand Oaks.

Stephanie and Nicole were the Hair and Makeup Artists who got our models runway-ready! They work exclusively with Exotic Green Garden out of their salon in Westlake Village.

We also got a chance to catch up with a couple of our favorite vendors (and friends) at the event!

But of course we loved getting to feature our beautiful dresses!!! Thank you to Photography by Paul D for providing us with these amazing images of our models and dresses.
